UNIDO Assignments/Papers presented in International and National Forums
a. As an Expert in Water Management & Irrigation for the UNIDO, had been on short assignments in developing countries for varying periods nearly ten times and his work has benefitted countries like Egypt, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria , Rwanda, Mauritius, Mexico etc
b. As an Expert on Applications of Plastics for Agriculture, Was often called upon to present papers in India and abroad which includes
(i) Guadalajara in Mexico,
(ii) Deutsch KunstoffeInstitute in Darmstadt, West Germany,
(iii) International Plasticulture Congress at San Diego,U.S; Lisbon, Portugal, Alexandria, Egypt; Budapest, Hungary. Was invited by the FrenchMinistry of Industry to present a paper at the Europlastique Congress in Paris in 1985.
2B. Professional Experience:
a. Former Director joint founder/promoter: Yuken India Ltd: a joint venture with Japan to manufacture Oil Hydraulic Equipment in Bangalore in 1976
b. Former Director founder/promoter Wavin India Ltd: a joint venture with Holland for manufacture of PVC pipes & fittings in Chennai, Ghaziabad &Nagpur
c. Member, Indian National Committee for Plastics in Agriculture set up by the Govt. of India,Ministry of Petroleum & Energy under Shri GVK Rao
d. Chairman for two terms, Plastics & Linoleums Export Promotion Council, set up by the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India
e. Former President and Vice President of the Founding Board along with Shri J R Shah, IPI Indian Plastics Institute and first Chairman of IPI Chennai Chapter in 1980's
f. Past member of the Governing Council, Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Tools(CIPET), Chennai, a joint project of Govt. of India & UNIDO, Vienna
g. Emeritus Chairman technical consultant to Polyene General Industries Pvt. Ltd., Chennai and a few other small Industries
h. Served as external examiner for M.Tech. in High Polymers, for the Indian Institute ofTechnology, Chennai.
i. Pioneered simple adapted versions of Drip Irrigation Systems and indigenious component requirement which has benefited India, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Pakistan etc.
